Nearly a year after Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces in Abbottabad, Pakistan, President Barack Obama, Admiral Mike Mullen, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke exclusively to NBC's Brian Williams. Pres. Obama reflected on the raid from the White House Situation Room, describing the tense moments as "the longest 40 minutes of my life."

I would like to express my appreciation for the job that you and your staff at Rock Center, as well as the NBC Nightly News, have done. I felt, after watching the May 2nd, Inside the Situation Room compelled to write. I cannot remember a better written, more informative news program. I grew up in a family that my father always watched NBC for any news coverage, have continued the same, and hope my daughters have continued. You showed us tonight especially what in means to be an informative reporter, but also dignity. My father rencently passed away, but I can see him watching your show tonight, getting up to turn off the television, and saying "job well done". I could not go about my routine of getting ready for tomorrow without first writing you and your staff and saying, "job well done Mr. Williams, job well done".
Well done indeed. Thank you Mr Williams and team for your emotionally intense build-up of the situation that unfolded one year ago. Your interviews painted the picture, the story was easy to follow... it was like reading a good book. Really truly great.
I heard Mr. Williams talking with much enthusiasm about this show, and I decided to watch it. My family joined me and we all agreed it was excellent, an insider's view of history by the participants in the Situation Room. However, from the title of the program, and lack of advance promotion, I feel it would not have gotten the audience it deserved. Rock Center with Brian Williams? Who would know to what that refers? I think it should be renamed, rebroadcast, and also shown in schools.
An unbelievable and invaluable series of interviews! I am a news freak and find myself, during the course of a day. listening to a number of news-related shows, but your coverage of the Situation Room was amazing! Thank you!
