Pop icon Madonna dishes on the challenges of single motherhood and living life in a “metaphorical fishbowl” in an interview with Rock Center's Harry Smith. After more than 30 years in the spotlight, does Madonna ever think about taking a break?
Madonna: 'I think it's hard' being me

Love madonna..she works hard and I can't wait to see her on tour!
Nice job, Harry. CBS's loss is NBC's gain! Every interview is a gem. Great to see you back. (Oh, and sorry I was critical of your story in Prof. Arthur Johnson's Creative Writing class.)
wish the interview was longer
If life is so hard and the fishbowl is so painful, why doesn't she retire with her billions of dollars and nannies, housekeepers, shoppers, handlers, landscapers, and take care of her children. She didn't have to solicit the Super Bowl gig, release new recording, and undertake a tour. This interview is insulting to all the real heroes of the world who, with diagnoses of breast cancer and other diseases, still go to work, raise their children, and, with their individual talent (which isn't necessarily rewarded with millions of dollars), add something valuable to their community. If Madonna could give up the adulation of millions and simply parent her children, we wouldn't be seeing the pathetic photos of her exploited kids. I am appalled.
I think she's amazing and impressive. Of course a lot of people are sour grapes about her success/controversial moments/choices, etc. - - but she doesn't owe any apologies. She has worked hard to make her own success and to suggest she "retire" is silly. That's not in her make up! I still love to see what she's up to and she's still got it. She isn't suggesting her ife is better than anyone elses or harder. She's just being honest that yeah, it's not always easy. She's just being honest. Go Madge - kick it girl.
What a waste of an interview! If Madonna is as tough as she pretends to be, then she can certainly tackle more difficult questions than were posed. Why didn't Harry Smith ask her about the collapse of her CD sales? Why didn't he ask her about how she feels about her film, "W.E." being a financial and critical flop? Why didn't he ask her why she decided to introduce a perfume now and not years ago? And why did he have to interview her at midnight? Enough of these stupid puff pieces.
Good interview but should have been longer. She is very interesting to listen to and you could have gotten much more from her. Madonna is ultimate *global* pop icon, an industry herself and with much more to give to her millions of fans.
