Hi NBC,
I think you did a great job on FedEX but I wonder what the message is. Maybe I came into the show rather late but there are other delivery services like UPS and USPS.
First time I saw the show tonight. Excellent!

I take umbrage with Mikes comment about "low pay, nothing jobs", that aren't GM jobs. Anyone who is gainfully employed in this economy deserve BETTER than that comment, regardless of how much they earn. I work hard and honestly for my paycheck. Don't minimize that.
I found this subject interesting as I had a very bad experience with FedEx years ago. They talk about their 99% success rate but what they don't talk about is what happens when things don't go as planned. Years ago a delivery wasn't delivered on time and cost me a lot of money. The worst part was trying to contact someone in the company to file a complaint. I spent weeks being sent in circles by FedEx employees. I finally gave up, which is what they wanted. I still have the paperwork to remind me not to use them.
It's pronounced Coredalane, Brian, not like it would be in french.
The GM love story. More pandering for the Communist in the White House. Stealing a company from it's shareholders and handing it to its Union Mob Bosses is not my idea of free enterprise. But the 'canned' promotion continues....This Company is still bankrupt - and now the Mob Bosses don't have a clue how to run it. Sweet justice!! Their layoffs were not any different than previous management; 3 failed Presidents at the company (Brian must have fogotten that one!!) - and, contrary to LIES in the Press, they have NOT paid back taxpayers for illegal Federal loans. MORE LIBERAL DRIBBLE. Have to wonder how Brian Williams looks at himself in the mirror at night......
I want to know why no one is doing a story about Ford Motor Co. They're the heroes. They turned the company around without Federal money... that's without our money! Buy Ford!
Very interesting - first time I watched the show and it was fascinating to see what happens start to finish with FedEx. One of those things that makes one appreciate not having to deliver a package personally. Just one thing - "Couer d'Alene," Idaho is pronounced "co-ur-duh-lane," all run together! :)
As a 20 year employee of FedEx and 18 of the in "Coeur d'Alene Idaho" I would just like to say to "JillHiggins" I'm very sorry you had such a bad experience with our company. I know how frustrating it can be to just have it all go wrong and get the run around, I, like Mr. Smith have had trouble with pkgs that I've shipped and received and yes it's frustrating. I hope someday you can give us another chance ;). I personally can say that I don't think of the people I deliver to on my route as "customers" they are friends, neighbors and family and I do my best everyday to make their FedEx experience a good one. Unfortunately it doesn't always work out that way, but it is not our intent to not do the job right. I liked the story about us and Fred Smith is an amazing employer, oh and Brian I forgive you for pronouncing our little cities name wrong... everyone does!!!
I watch the complete show as I usually do. However I question the wage of the GM workers. They are earning over $29.00/hour. I am college educated as a social worker with the disabled population and make half this wage. All my college trained friends are in the same wage range as me. The youngest of the three at GM even said he was earning all this money without any college training. Isn't this going to be getting us back into the same trouble again. What are the qualifications for these jobs as I am willing to relocate and apply!!!
UPS has been around for over 100 years and Fed Ex has been around for 40 years so how is it that Fred Smith came up with the idea. He stold the idea and gave it a different name.
FedEx started as an air express company while UPS was still trucking everything around. Both companies have expanded operations - FedEx into ground shipping and UPS into air express but if anybody "stold" anything it was probably UPS and their expansion into air operations long after FedEx was established.

Thank you for a good, concise story. I also appreciated the wry sense of humor when you were seen sitting in the front of the Trip 7 with Wilson by your side. News needs a sense of humor!
