We need more people advocating for cleaner air and making people realize that sitting down in the back of a wheel for every errand is not always the best thing for our health. The reason to all the health problems this nation faces is due to the lack of activity in our daily lives, and what New York is doing is litteraly putting Americans Back To Work by giving them a new and healthy option to getting around. This might just be the begining of literally putting Americans Back to Work...
LK, with all due respect your answer is like why don't you eat cake.
Janette Sadik-Khan’s interview by Brian on Dec. 6, 2011 on Rock Center was absurd. These rich kids come into picture with their connection and they think they have the best answer to everyone; it is my way or the highway. For her to have that attitude and get paid by tax payers is unbelievable. She wants to change New York to 3rd world poor country; look at India and other countries about the use of bikes in congested urban countries (I forgot her upbringing is different); it is like why don't they eat cake type of answer from Ms. Khan. Instead of thinking about individual bike riding where it is a seasonal transportation, Janette need to think about mass transit. How to take people from point A to point B in an efficient and environmentally friendly way (think outside the box; and have an open mind; when you listen is when you expand your thoughts; at this time your mind is blocked unfortunately). Bike belongs somewhere else not New York city where more than 6 million people live and it is the world trade center. Did she talk about cleaning the underground train (subway system)? She needs to visit Moscow and see how beautiful and clean their subway system is. Just because she ride her bike to work everyone needs to do it.....unbelievable....I want to see what she rides in winter....there are middle class people who need to drop their kids to school go to work and pick up their kids....so many things can be listed.....all she thinks about is taking vehicles from the roads and put side line cafe (nothing against sideline cafe) on the street so people are relaxing.... that is not transportation, that is recreation.....maybe she is in the wrong business; New York is a business center, come up with a good solution to mass transportation like transporting close to 300 to 500 in one trip......she needs to consult the residents and commuters to New York get feedback; see the alternatives and come up with the best solution........don’t get me wrong bikes have their place by creating a network of trails (separate from cars and pedestrians) around waterfronts, etc....
I hope you will get the courage to share this with her or put it on your show next time....
Thank you
JPet

So Bloomberg has cured cancer, aids, ms and all other genetic diseases by simply putting bike lanes in New York streets? And has also put 50 million unemployed Americans back to work? You must realize you will be burned at the stake for speaking such heresay against the Annointed one and Only Savior Obama ?
